Kent Cultural Strategy

The Cultural Strategy for Kent 2010 – 2015 has been devised by Kent and Medway partners to promote a shared understanding of how the county’s cultural offer can enhance the lives of people who live in Kent; to demonstrate how culture can be used to strengthen the individual, collective and economic wellbeing of the county and to set out intentions and actions to deliver those intentions for the next 5 years.

Kent Cultural Strategy Challenge Fund

Applicants may apply for up to £5,000 to support activity that delivers against the strategic priorities identified for the remainder of the life of Unlocking Kent’s Cultural Potential:

Priority A: Creative Places
Priority B: Strategic Commissioning
Priority C: Creative Education, Entrepreneurialism & Skills
Priority D: Connecting & Collaborating

To Apply:

Please submit a proposal that includes:
a) What the project is (max. 200 words)
b) Which of the strategic priorities it meets and how it will deliver against them (max. 200 words)
c) An outline budget to identify income and expenditure and clearly indicate the source of the 100% match funding that is required, and whether this is confirmed or predicted.

Keeping within the word counts listed above, your proposal must show how it meets the following criteria:
a) Artistic and Creative Excellence – we can only consider work that is of the highest quality.
b) Public Benefit – we will look for evidence of how your project will be developed and promoted, to make quality arts activity accessible to as wide a range of people as possible.
c) Viability & Value for Money – we will look for evidence that project delivery is clearly planned, can be delivered within the capability of your organisation, and does not duplicate other provision in the area. We will look for evidence that the budget is realistic in relation to your proposals and that costs are reasonable.
